 The Applied Botanical Path offers practical, seasonal, and clinically informed herbal training for animal owners, caregivers, and wellness professionals. Rooted in traditional herbalism and attuned to the rhythm of the natural world, this pathway blends evidence-led plant medicine, zoopharmacognosy, seasonal energetics, and hands-on formulation.
You’ll build a solid foundation in both the science and the sensory art of herbal care for dogs and horses—learning not only which herbs to use, but when, how, and why.
Whether you’re exploring for personal use or ready to step into professional practice, you can begin with either the Foundation Course or the more immersive Diploma—both pathways offer structured learning, practical application, and deep seasonal insight.
Both practitioner routes are accredited by UK Rural Skills and on completeion students can choose to join our professional association for additional free continuing professional development and or our partner the International Association of Animal Therapists.Â

This fully online 200-hour course offers clear, step-by-step training in intuitive herbal medicine and applied behaviour for animals — helping you build confidence, clarity, and deep-rooted skill.

Level 4 Diploma: Innate Botanical Selections
Go deep into the world of animal herbalism.
Our most in depth herbal training programme. We combine the wisdom and method of animal self medication with our immersive and seasonal teaching in western herbalism. With approx 360hrs of training.
We cover everything you would find in the Foundation Certificate plus we provide an herbal energetic and deeper scientific exploration. In addition to intuitive medicine we cover botanical foraging, herbal energetics, demonstration studies case studies, physiology, anatomy, evolutionary biology and a learning experience that reveals the inherent connections between animals, herbs and humans.
This pathway allows you to explore and become a master in the world of animal herbalism, herbal energetics and animals self-medicating. All with a deeply spiritual, seasonal and energetic twist. Our Diploma course is an extensive collaboration of herbal medicine, innate medicine and seasonality - all to bring our animals into closer alignment with their natural evolutionary biology.Â
